More Craigslist bait… this time I am trying to get rid of my iPhone because I want to “Get off the grid.”

Again, if you have any ideas for stuff I can pawn on Craigslist or services i can request please send them in.

Here’s the posting.  I know it is small… but pretty much, I’m giving away my phone for free.  “Hit me up and we will figure it out.”  You will notice my grammar and spelling gets much more “ghetto” the longer I’m emailing this guy.

He is in RED and I am in GREEN

That would be fine.  How would you like me to pay?  I can mail you a check after the phone arrives or we can meet and not have the hassle of the mail system.

PayPal would be fine.  For someone trying to get off the grid it does not make much sense to use PayPal and FedEx. When the phone arrives, I will pay you electronically.  Should I make payment to this email address?

Your listing says the phone is free, now you would like me to pay for shipping and for you to walk to the grocery store.  I think I am going to have to respectfully pass on the phone.  Good luck.

listen.  we dont have 2 do that then.  i got 2 get this phone out of my house n get off the grid right away.  dont worry about the $5 but i think yur pulling 1 over on me.  ill send to that address.  can you give me an electronic signature over email so i know yur legit?

An electronic signature?  Do you even know what the grid is?  You want me to pay via PayPal.  You’re sending with FedEx and you want me to sign electronically over email.  All of these things are the grid.  You are doing the exact opposite of getting off the grid.  Regardless, I will take your FREE phone off your hands if you will mail it to me or we can arrange to meet.  I would prefer to meet in the Loop.

man i know the grid.  check it out.  here i am in the woods.  no ones gonna find me here.  i am off the grid

Just because you are in the forest does not necessarily make you off the grid.  To truly get off the grid you have to stop using technology all together.  This means email, credit cards, PayPal, FedEx and all other forms of technology that can be traced.  That is quite an interesting choice of clothes for the forest.  How is there a Jewel nearby if you are in the forest?  There is not much more for us to discuss.  Please mail the phone to the address above and when I receive it I will forward you the cost of shipping via PayPal.

Facebook friends?  You need to delete your account to be off the grid my friend.  Listen, I am not interested in being Facebook friends.  I do not have an account.  I have a feeling you are not going to mail me the phone.
