The AFC East continues to belong to the New England Patriots who seem to mix it up every year and find new ways to win. The New York Jets are a huge disappointment, mainly because Mark Sanchez sucks. The Buffalo Bills have a nice offense, and I am glad that they are actually competitive this year. There has been speculation over the last couple years that Buffalo will lose its team, and they would move it to a much less deserving city like Los Angeles. On a scale of 1-10, L.A. is a 1 in sports fans. Talk about people who just don’t give a fuck about sports. People in Buffalo live and die by the Bills and Sabres. They still pack the Bills’ stadium when the team sucks and it’s the insanely cold outside. The Miami Dolphins have cool uniforms.

New England Patriots: 5-1

Real Life: They’re clearly in the driver’s seat. Why is it every time I watch them play, I think they will win? Tom Brady just fucking stands in the pocket and never gets touched. So annoying to watch. Playoff Odds: 90%

Make Believe: Combined, Rob Gronkowski and Aaron Hernandez are putting up ridiculous numbers. Together they are almost as good as Wes Welker is on his own. Their D still sucks, so that will force their offense to put up points to win games. The Law Firm (BenJarvus Green-Ellis) is underrated on their team. Would be a nice trade target.

Buffalo Bills: 4-2

Real Life: I still don’t believe in this team. They really only have 3 games left where they will be favored by more than 4 or 5. (MIA, @MIA, DEN) The rest of their games are gonna be against teams with winning records. Playoff Odds: 40%

Make Believe: Here’s the good news. They have plenty of contributors on offense. Fucking Fred Jackson is a stud. Why didn’t I draft him in any of my leagues!? I expect Ryan Fitzpatrick, Jackson and either David Nelson or Scott Chandler to be productive for the rest of the year. Sleeper could still be CJ Spiller. Looks like they were trying to get him the rock in space more often last week.

New York Jets: 3-3

Real Life: The offense still iffy. Mark Sanchez does not impress me at all. I feel like the media really wants people to like him. Sorry bro. I would not want him as my QB. The defense will always keep them in games. Schedule is favorable the rest of the way. They play a few good teams at home and shit teams on the road. Playoff Odds: 50%

Make Believe: San Antonio Holmes remains one of the most underrated WR’s in the league. Wish I would have scooped him cheap in some auction leagues. I like adding him in trade offers. People don’t seem to think he is that good for some reason. Shonn Greene is still a disappointment but at least he looks like he is getting the majority of goal line carries. (No clue if that 100% true)

Miami Dolphins: 0-5

Real Life: Why does everyone hate Tony Sparano? I actually kind of like him. He has had a couple decent years with this same team essentially. Oh wait, one of those years was with Chad Pennington, Ronnie Brown and Pat White as his QB’s. Re-read that last sentence. Pennington has high school level arm strength, Brown is a running back and White is a defensive back masquerading as a QB. (Follow up note, White is no longer in the NFL, shocking.) The Dolphins almost made the playoffs that year too! They improve considerably with Andrew Luck on their squad. I would trade Brandon Marshall for a 3rd rounder (HELLO BEARS!). Dude is bat shit crazy. Playoff Odds: 0%

Make Believe: I should probably fill you in on something here. Most leagues I play in are PPR. I prefer them because I like higher scores. Reason I say this; trade for Brandon Marshall. Dude is good. Plus hopefully the Dolphins trade him to a team with a better QB. Ignore the rest of the team. I could see liking Daniel Thomas in a keeper league.

Hope this gets you started in the AFC East.  Post any questions you have below.

Check back tomorrow when I preview the AFC North and tell you my QB to have on your team that you may not be thinking of.
